About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Safeguard the organization’s contractual and commercial interests across large-scale EPC and PPA projects
  • Advise the CEO DG, Country Manager, Project Director, and project teams on contractual obligations, rights, and risk exposures
  • Interpret contracts and subcontracts
  • Draft and coordinate contractual correspondence with clients and subcontractors
  • Lead preparation of variation proposals (RFPs) and value engineering proposals (VEPs)
  • Manage development and defence of claims, including extensions of time, disturbance costs, and other entitlements
  • Establish and maintain records supporting variation and claim substantiation
  • Educate and guide project teams on contractual obligations and best practices
  • Own and coordinate the Risk & Opportunities process across all DG business units
  • Prepare risk deliverables and internal Risk & Opportunities registers
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and management plans
  • Interface with legal, engineering, construction, client, and subcontractor stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, or related discipline; postgraduate or legal qualifications are a plus
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in contract and commercial management within large-scale EPC and PPA contract including IFRS 16 rules
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-value contracts and complex claims in international, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong familiarity with industry-standard project management and risk management tools
  • In-depth knowledge of international construction contracts, especially FIDIC (Yellow Book) and NEC3
  • Proven experience preparing and defending complex contractual claims, including EOT, loss and expense, and change orders
  • Strong understanding of risk identification, mitigation, and documentation within project frameworks
  • Ability to manage and assess contractual financial implications and ensure commercial outcomes
  • Skilled negotiator with the ability to achieve win-win outcomes with clients and subcontractors
  • Proficient in English (required) and at least two of Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, or French
