About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Monitor and support the day-to-day technical and operational performance of biomass plants, ensuring optimal availability, reliability, efficiency and throughput
Lead initiatives to improve operational performance, plant efficiency, equipment reliability and health and safety standards
Provide technical oversight throughout the full asset lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance
Develop, implement and continuously improve operational procedures, policies and best practices
Analyse operational and performance data, identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions
Coordinate technical projects and operational improvement initiatives in line with business objectives, budget and timelines
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues, optimise plant performance and ensure regulatory compliance
Support asset integrity, environmental compliance and long-term value creation through operational and maintenance strategies
Provide technical guidance, coaching and knowledge sharing across operational teams
Conduct regular visits to biomass facilities and provide on-site operational support

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in Technical Design, Project Development, Operations Management, Product Innovation or other relevant technical fields
Proven ability to analyse operational performance, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
Solid understanding of industrial operations, power generation assets and maintenance practices
Experience within biomass, energy or other industrial environments is considered an advantage
Experience in coordinating technical projects and multidisciplinary teams within operational environments
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, operational and corporate teams
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
High level of accountability, organisation and attention to detail
Availability to travel frequently across production sites in Portugal
