About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor and support the day-to-day technical and operational performance of biomass plants, ensuring optimal availability, reliability, efficiency and throughput
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational performance, plant efficiency, equipment reliability and health and safety standards
  • Provide technical oversight throughout the full asset lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve operational procedures, policies and best practices
  • Analyse operational and performance data, identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate technical projects and operational improvement initiatives in line with business objectives, budget and timelines
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues, optimise plant performance and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support asset integrity, environmental compliance and long-term value creation through operational and maintenance strategies
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching and knowledge sharing across operational teams
  • Conduct regular visits to biomass facilities and provide on-site operational support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Technical Design, Project Development, Operations Management, Product Innovation or other relevant technical fields
  • Proven ability to analyse operational performance, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
  • Solid understanding of industrial operations, power generation assets and maintenance practices
  • Experience within biomass, energy or other industrial environments is considered an advantage
  • Experience in coordinating technical projects and multidisciplinary teams within operational environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, operational and corporate teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • High level of accountability, organisation and attention to detail
  • Availability to travel frequently across production sites in Portugal
