About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise the preparation and posting of general ledger journal entries and ensure alignment with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
- Review and validate reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end close reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of audit schedules and assist in responding to auditor inquiries.
- Identify and recommend improvements to financial systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Oversee team deliverables and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
- Guide and support team members within the general ledger team through coaching and review of their work.
Requirements
What you’ll need- - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
- - Experience in a similar role and ability to work independently and lead team members effectively.
- - Chartered accountant registered at Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (mandatory).
- - Advance knowledge in financial software and systems, spreadsheet and data analysis tools (SAP and Excel preferred).
- - English and Portuguese language skills in speaking and writing, further language skills desirable.
- - Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- - High level of accountability and accuracy.
- - Steadfast communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- - Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced international business environment.
