About the role

  • Develop and secure the grid connection for large-scale onshore wind, solar PV and BESS projects together with the Project Developers and Project Managers
  • Provide advice and strategic direction to the Project Team during the grid interconnection application process and its successive stages (point of interconnection identification, indicative grid solution request, grid capacity reservation confirmation, grid connection agreement/offer)
  • Carry out own feasibility studies and supervision of third parties’ electrical studies related to the projects under development.
  • Provide support to the projects due diligence and contribute to the development of economical and feasible solutions to meet the requirements of DNOs and TSO
  • Maintain awareness of emerging grid technologies and lead our understanding of new innovations, technology, techniques, and tools relevant to the connection of projects at utility scale.
  • Communication and coordination of all external project participants, particularly with landowners, communities, public institutions and any other applicable third parties’ experts involved in the grid connection process.
  • Involvement and coordination with the applicable Greenvolt departments
  • Observation and evaluation of the electrical requirements, regulations, and legal framework in the field of grid compliance in the applicable regions and/or States of Germany
  • Positive contribution to the growth and culture of the company.

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering background (Power Systems, Electronics or comparable)
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of electrical management and grid connection of renewable energy power plants, ideally in the technical management or in the service area
  • Extensive knowledge of the grid connection rules (i.e., grid compliance, grid connection request process)
  • Understanding of onshore technologies (solar, wind and batteries), cable corridor route selection and export connections.
  • Familiarity with the components and technical equipment usually installed in large-scale onshore wind farms and PV plants.
  • Proficient and confident with Office application (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Outlook)
  • Fluent spoken and written communication in German and English
  • A sense of responsibility, resilience, flexibility, and willingness to travel nationally.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Class B driver’s license
