About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and contribute to advisory projects focused on electricity markets across Latin America, with a particular emphasis on Mexico and Chile, delivering high-quality analysis and actionable insights to clients.
  • Engage directly with clients, effectively communicating technical findings, market insights, and strategic recommendations through presentations, reports, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments, market trends, and industry changes, ensuring key insights are shared across the team and incorporated into DNV’s market intelligence and project work.
  • Collaborate with energy market modeling specialists to develop and evaluate market scenarios, supporting power price forecasting and strategic decision-making for clients.
  • Support business development activities for the Energy Markets Analytics LATAM team, including client engagement, proposal development, market outreach, and identification of new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to the expansion of DNV’s energy markets advisory services by supporting entry into new markets, developing new service offerings, and strengthening the team's regional presence.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality consulting services while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring project success.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by sharing industry knowledge, best practices, and innovative approaches that enhance the team's capabilities and service delivery.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in electricity markets.
  • Up to 10 years of relevant experience in electricity markets, energy sector regulations, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of the Mexican electricity market, including its regulatory environment, market dynamics, and operational structure. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Energy and capacity markets
  • Clean Energy Certificates (CELs)
  • Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
  • Market operation and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to monitor market developments and translate insights into actionable recommendations for projects and clients
  • Proven ability to lead client engagements, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and deliver high-quality results within budget and schedule requirements.
  • Experience in asset valuation, commercial due diligence, and PPA analysis is highly desirable. Familiarity with project finance concepts and transaction advisory activities is considered a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of energy system modeling tools such as Plexos, PSR, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Proficiency in programming and analytical tools, including Python and SQL, is considered an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
