About the role
- Structure, review, draft, redline, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including NDAs, sales, vendor and procurement, SaaS , IT, marketing, consulting, data processing and AI addendums.
- Negotiate contract terms directly with counterparties or through their counsel.
- Provide clear, concise legal guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Utilize internal contract and/or vendor management tools to track and update contract status and manage timelines to ensure prompt turnaround.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align contract terms with business objectives and risk tolerance.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 4+ years of experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably in-house or with clients in fintech, financial services, or technology.
- Strong understanding of contract law and key commercial terms.
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and compliance.
- Prior experience in a consumer-facing fintech or regulated financial services environment preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements impacting fintech businesses (e.g., privacy, marketing, data security) preferred but not required.
