About the role
- Report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations (accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, deferred revenue) with complete supporting documentation
- Reconcile partnership revenue regularly, track revenue share, commissions, and related agreements
- Work closely with business development and sales teams to understand new partnership agreements and financial implications
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to partnership revenue recognition and assist in partnership payout calculations and reporting
- Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, applying payments, and resolving vendor/customer inquiries
- Maintain the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation
- Assist in preparation of financial reports and schedules for internal and external stakeholders
- Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department
- Participate in special/ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience (preferably within a SaaS or technology-driven environment)
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Demonstrated experience with bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience with revenue recognition, particularly in a subscription or partnership-based model (highly desirable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- CPA designation or actively pursuing (nice to have)
- Experience with subscription billing platforms (nice to have)
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems (nice to have)
