About the role
- Drive commercial growth by originating, structuring, and closing distributed energy solutions.
- Originate and lead large-scale sales opportunities with commercial, industrial, and Fortune 500 clients.
- Identify and target strategic accounts, positioning solar, storage, and microgrid solutions as enablers of sustainability.
- Build trusted, consultative relationships with executive-level stakeholders.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement through closing.
- Lead negotiations for complex contracts, ensuring terms meet client expectations.
- Collaborate with solutions engineering, marketing, operations, and finance teams.
- Consistently achieve or exceed annual sales and margin goals.
- Represent the company at key client meetings and industry events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in business development, commercial sales, or strategic partnerships within renewable energy, distributed generation, or energy infrastructure.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-million-dollar renewable energy transactions.
- Experience selling into Fortune 500 clients with ability to navigate complex organizational structures and procurement processes.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV, battery energy storage, and microgrid systems.
- Proven ability to negotiate and close complex agreements (PPAs, ESAs, term sheets, LOIs).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence executive stakeholders.
- Self-driven, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple high-priority opportunities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% across North America.
