About the role
- Responsible for multiple projects at any given time
- Involve the coordination of construction projects with necessary hands-on involvement
- Ensure jobs adhere to specifications and are completed on time and within budget
- Regular job site visits providing hands-on assistance as needed
- Assembling shop drawings packages for submission
- Develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for project completion
- Select and coordinate work of subcontractors on various phases of the project
- Attend construction meetings with appropriate follow-up to resolve issues
- Oversee performance of trade contractors and review engineering drawings
- Ordering & ensuring delivery of materials to job sites
- Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and obtaining necessary permits and licenses
- Review Foreman reports and check on difficulties and correct safety violations or other deficiencies
- Interaction with contractors, engineers, and customers
- Provide technical support for Sales staff
- Liaise with Finance to ensure bill processing
- Track and control construction schedule and costs to achieve project completion on time and within budget
- Report to client about progress and any necessary modifications of plans
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years Project Management experience in the Construction Industry
- Post Secondary education in a related field, preference given to candidates with a C.E.T Designation
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Strong ability to read and understand blueprints
- Proven ability to liaise with clients and consultants in the management of site staff and subcontractors in multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficient computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office Suite and AutoCAD required
- Flexible to travel
- Ability to work in a team environment along with strong management skills
- A demonstrated ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, and effectively prioritizing multiple responsibilities
- Detail oriented, effective problem solving with a passion for continuous improvement
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Knowledge and understanding of French considered an asset
