About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research, analyze, and calculate customer design proposal, specification, and manual data to determine design or application feasibility
  • Participate in estimating customer design proposals
  • Analyze subcontractor proposals to confirm criteria are satisfied
  • Participate in contract negotiations with subcontractors and vendors across various trades
  • Review subcontractor construction documents for scope compliance
  • Participate in awarding subcontracts
  • Coordinate design and engineering efforts
  • Monitor and report project financial status
  • Administer subcontracts and contracts
  • Participate in job progress scheduling for the MEP portion of projects
  • Review subcontractor-installed construction for scope compliance
  • Purchase and monitor delivery of MEP materials
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor payment requests
  • Issue work changes and obtain subcontractor pricing promptly
  • Ensure projects are designed, procured, and constructed within operating guidelines and technical requirements
  • Visit job sites to review progress and work quality, with possible relocation to the jobsite during MEP construction
  • Verify monthly MEP Red File reports with the overall Project Manager
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for scope compliance
  • Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s on-site safety program
  • Supervise on-site and contract ACAD drafters and administrative assistants
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications
  • Ability to use programs for calculating loads and performing cost analysis
  • Knowledge of mechanical, piping, or electrical trades
  • Energetic, self-motivated, collaborative approach and commitment to professional development
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in office and construction-site environments with exposure to weather, moving mechanical parts, fumes, electrical shock risks, and other site hazards
  • Overtime may be required
  • Willingness to visit job sites as needed and potentially relocate to the jobsite during MEP construction
