About the role
- Lead and oversee project-specific efforts for the Design Team, ensuring accurate, on-time, and on-budget delivery of design models and construction drawings.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams through all project phases, from estimating to commissioning and start-up.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process updates, software upgrades, and improved deliverables.
- Review specifications for compliance, manage change orders, and provide technical direction on design activities.
- Lead a team of designers on a project basis, fostering collaboration and ensuring high performance within assigned projects.
- Provide feedback to managers for quarterly performance reviews based on project performance and contribute to resource planning discussions for the projects being led.
- Demonstrate a “technical + business mindset,” confidently navigating ambiguity and dynamic project environments.
- Model core company values and coach team members in embodying them in their work.
- Lead multiple projects, ranging from small to large, for the Design Team, coordinating assigned resources and requesting adjustments as needed.

- Physical demands: frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands or arms and talk or hear; occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in mechanical drafting or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and proven experience demonstrating advanced knowledge of design methodologies.
- Five years of experience in preparing 2D CAD drawings for shop fabrication or field construction is required, with process and packaging experience in the food industry highly preferred.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D AutoCAD is essential, with a strong emphasis on Plant 3D for process design.
- Additional experience in Navisworks and Revit is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with P&IDs, equipment layouts, and process piping design is preferred.
- Knowledge of 3D scanning is considered a plus.
- Ability to spend approximately 85% of the time at a CAD workstation working with AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- High degree of organization, creativity, attention to detail, and a focus on producing quality work.
- Exceptional communication skills to actively participate in internal and customer progress meetings with professionalism.
- Ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion and contribute to the design process within a collaborative, problem-solving team environment.
