Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project Manager.
Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule.
Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate.
Coordinate/management of all trades throughout build process; assist in selection of qualified bidders and negotiate final prices.
Assist in the preparation of various reports, i.e. cost to complete, monthly billings and status reports.
Review all drawings, i.e. P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times.
Assist in pricing work, draft changes and change orders to be reviewed by MEP Project Manager.
Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion; schedule work, including subcontractors.
Assist in the productivity and quantity tracking of the subcontractors installed work; determine materials, equipment and tools needed; secure appropriate supply sources.
Set up and close out construction site; Responsible for procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project; participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program and ensure Gray’s safety program and QMS are implemented and enforced on site.
Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors; consults to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports and/or direction from MEP Project Manager.
Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards; generate reports and traceability for continuous improvement.
Supervise interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewarding and disciplining team members; take ownership of training newer team members.
Requirements
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum 15 years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired.
Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
Strong people management skills; may lead multiple subordinate supervisors and other support staff.
Basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets and smartphones.
MS Project and other scheduling software a plus.
Must possess a strong work ethic and be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
Must posses the ability to think for his/herself and be able to manage without direction having to be given.
This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S..
