About the role

  • Train and manage accounting staff including development of staffs’ increased accounting skills
  • Manage the monthly accounting close process
  • Track, review, and analyze monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Manage the Reinsurance Dashboard on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate with external-to-Finance teams to ensure accurate reporting
  • Review and approve all journal entries and account reconciliations related to broker commissions
  • Manage all processes related to fixed assets including depreciation calculation
  • Track, review, and analyze cash forecasts
  • Analyze and apply various accounting pronouncements and assist with research
  • Assist in the preparation of supporting information for the Company’s financial statements
  • Oversee operating expenses and accrual accounts
  • Coordinate and review Management Reports
  • Act as resource and coordinator for external auditors
  • Identify opportunities to improve current accounting processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years of substantial experience in accounting
  • Strong general business acumen
  • History of managing complex processes and multi-layered projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated success getting results through collaboration
  • Certified Public Accountant designation (extra credit)
  • Audit or tax experience with a public accounting firm (extra credit)
  • Experience with NetSuite (extra credit)
