About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Adjust and run the gluing machine
- Operate folding/gluing equipment
- Feed the gluer
- Assist on make-readies
- Maintain accurate records and production sheets
- Ensure product quality and production efficiency
- Communicate relevant information to facilitate production flow
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Perform make-readies on straight-line and autobottom boxes
- Perform general cleanup
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Attend and participate in ongoing training
- Follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to Safe Quality Foods
- Report potentially unsafe food conditions or SQF noncompliance to an authority
- Participate in SQF root-cause and corrective actions as required
- Report unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints
Requirements
What you’ll need- Grade 12 or acceptable experience
- Related on-the-job experience required
- Familiarity with and ability to follow company safety policies and government legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Ability to work in teams
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to adapt and take initiative
- Good communication skills
- Good physical condition and ability to perform heavy lifting
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lead change
