About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, direct, and monitor production to meet specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards
- Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, and related functions to develop production schedules and allocate labor and capital resources
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions
- Supervise entry-level or semi-skilled hourly production, craft, and clerical employees
- Coordinate resources and set daily team priorities to achieve task completion and operational objectives
- Monitor daily operations of a unit or sub-unit
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
- Coordinate with related areas to improve efficiency
- Direct work-unit operations according to schedules and deliverables
- Manage people-related actions including hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees
- Follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures for Safe Quality Foods
- Report potentially unsafe SQF conditions and customer complaints to an authorized person
- Participate in SQF root-cause and corrective-action activities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree
- Supervisory responsibility for two or more direct reports
- Understanding and application of established procedures
- Full knowledge of own functional responsibility area
- Ability to monitor daily unit or sub-unit operations
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
- Ability to coordinate resources and set daily team priorities
- People-management capabilities, including hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees
- Ability to follow Safe Quality Food (SQF) production, hygiene, allergen, and plant procedures
- Ability to report unsafe conditions and customer complaints
- Ability to participate in SQF root-cause and corrective-action activities
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
