About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership, training, and guidance to Quality department team members
- Tour the work area to ensure department operations are on schedule
- Determine causes of machine downtime and coordinate appropriate follow-up
- Coordinate with maintenance team members to prioritize repairs
- Advise team members during machine troubleshooting
- Perform department and daily audits
- Encourage teamwork and employee engagement
- Troubleshoot equipment, material, and process issues
- Gather team-member feedback and maintain proper machine settings
- Analyze equipment wear and help determine replacement parts
- Complete work orders and follow up on repair effectiveness
- Assign team members to duties and machines using the production schedule
- Collect production data, enter it into the computer system, and generate required reports
- Complete reports and passdowns
- Participate in shift transition meetings
- Serve as a Safety Leader and coach safe work practices
- Assist with team-member evaluations and overtime scheduling
- Communicate and execute schedule changes
- Serve as backup Line Inspector
- Update specification files and create files for new prints
- Create labels using the computer and label equipment
- Assist with training new team members and monitor training progress
- Complete laser checks for rim diameter and rim thickness
- Complete special testing and paper testing as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must successfully complete Level 1–4 assessments and recertify knowledge annually
- Ability to move around the plant and stand for long periods
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, preferred
- Must monitor and respond to email while on shift
- Ability to maintain and create data within the company database
- Ability to work with close tolerances and precise measurements
- Ability to read schedules and scales
- Previous operator experience and production experience extremely helpful
- Must work 12-hour shifts, alternating 36- and 48-hour weeks
- Must attend shift transition meetings, arriving 15 minutes before the shift and communicating during the final 15 minutes
- Knowledge of coffee machines, computers, lab equipment, and miscellaneous hand tools
