About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for ensuring that the shipping department is being maintained and product is being processed according to customer specifications
  • Ensure that shipping associates maintain a clean, neat and orderly warehouse
  • Ensure all forklifts are being properly maintained
  • Work with the shipping manager on scheduling of shipping associates
  • Oversee the proper processing of product packaging and storage
  • Knowledge of proper loading procedures and ability to assist when needed
  • Maintain communication with shipping manager and production supervisors
  • Directly supervises associates in the shipping department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • Plan, assign and direct the work force
  • Ensure all orders are billed and shipped correctly
  • Notify Shipping Manager of any personnel problems
  • Give feedback to department associates concerning their responsibilities to safety and quality

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience in the shipping/warehouse department
  • Trained and certified fork lift operator
  • Excellent attendance
  • Ability to schedule department associates for efficient operation (preferred)
  • Knowledge of proper packaging and placement in warehouse (preferred)
