About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for ensuring that the shipping department is being maintained and product is being processed according to customer specifications
Ensure that shipping associates maintain a clean, neat and orderly warehouse
Ensure all forklifts are being properly maintained
Work with the shipping manager on scheduling of shipping associates
Oversee the proper processing of product packaging and storage
Knowledge of proper loading procedures and ability to assist when needed
Maintain communication with shipping manager and production supervisors
Directly supervises associates in the shipping department
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
Plan, assign and direct the work force
Ensure all orders are billed and shipped correctly
Notify Shipping Manager of any personnel problems
Give feedback to department associates concerning their responsibilities to safety and quality

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous experience in the shipping/warehouse department
Trained and certified fork lift operator
Excellent attendance
Ability to schedule department associates for efficient operation (preferred)
Knowledge of proper packaging and placement in warehouse (preferred)
