About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for leading and managing a manufacturing facility of typically 90-100 employees to achieve safety, quality, service and productivity targets and expectations.
Balance customer needs with optimizing operational effectiveness.
Implement manufacturing policies and programs that maintain and improve the company’s competitive position and profitability of the operation.
Improve productivity and decrease waste through the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Increase labor efficiency and utilization, including staffing and overtime.
Optimize inventory turns and reduce aged board inventory to meet cash targets.
Achieve on-time delivery targets and ensure that customer specifications are consistently met or exceeded.
Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local employment regulations.
Develop talent through assignments, job rotations, and promotions to build bench strength and succession planning.

Requirements

What you’ll need

7–10 years of operational management experience in the packaging industry.
Technical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate process improvement teams.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to motivate people.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet skills.
Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
Four year degree preferred or; Compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree. Master’s Degree a plus
