About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for leading and managing a manufacturing facility of typically 90-100 employees to achieve safety, quality, service and productivity targets and expectations.
  • Balance customer needs with optimizing operational effectiveness.
  • Implement manufacturing policies and programs that maintain and improve the company’s competitive position and profitability of the operation.
  • Improve productivity and decrease waste through the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Increase labor efficiency and utilization, including staffing and overtime.
  • Optimize inventory turns and reduce aged board inventory to meet cash targets.
  • Achieve on-time delivery targets and ensure that customer specifications are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local employment regulations.
  • Develop talent through assignments, job rotations, and promotions to build bench strength and succession planning.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7–10 years of operational management experience in the packaging industry.
  • Technical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate process improvement teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to motivate people.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Four year degree preferred or; Compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree. Master’s Degree a plus
