About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operates tractor equipped with a concave blade for gouging out, leveling, and distributing earth
- Pushes trees and rocks from land preparatory to construction
- Fastens attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge-pin hitches
- Connects hydraulic hoses to provide power for controlling the attachment
- Drives bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to specified grade
- May grease, oil, and repair tractor
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Proper certification required
- Completion of an apprenticeship program required
- Appropriate training and experience required
- Ability to read engineering drawing
- Practice good safety habits
- Ability to follow instructions and meet set standards
- Judge distances and slopes accurately
- Physical ability to stoop, bend, and crouch
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
