About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Selects profitable risks by identifying and analyzing risk exposures
Manages and underwrites book of business to maintain profitable results
Monitors new business production, renewal and policy retention trends
Develops effective relationships with agents and other internal and external customers
Drives new business sales growth for Commercial Lines
Assists in the training, mentoring and development of new or less experienced underwriting personnel
Manages assigned work to meet or exceed time and quality service standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree and/or CPCU designation strongly desired
At least five years complex inland marine underwriting experience
Guidewire experience preferred
Excellent communication, time management, decision making, and PC skills
Ability to complete multiple tasks within set deadlines, be detail oriented
Outstanding negotiation skills
