About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide secure ground transportation and on-site personal security for senior executives and board members during travel, meetings, and public events
- Perform protective advance planning and threat vulnerability assessments
- Develop alternate routes to avoid congestion, construction, and potential risks
- Recognize hazardous situations and use defensive/protective driving techniques
- Respond rapidly to medical and security emergencies
- Maintain strict confidentiality of information, conversations, and materials encountered on duty
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, fueled, and in excellent working condition
- Schedule and execute executive ground transportation requests
- Coordinate travel logistics with executive assistants, internal security teams, law enforcement, and third-party vendors
- Maintain reports on incidents, travel activity, and security assessments
- Conduct residential and event security assessments for senior leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED required
- 4+ years of executive protection, law enforcement, or military experience required
- 4+ years of professional driving experience required
- Intimate knowledge of Chicago and surrounding areas, including traffic patterns and preferred routes
- Sound judgment and discretion
- Ability to make rapid decisions under stressful conditions
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with short notice
- Valid, in-state driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUIs, major infractions, or criminal moving violations in the past 7 years
- Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification required upon hire and annual recertification
- Executive protection training completed or willingness to complete upon hire
