About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the inbound operations of a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center.
  • Provide direct leadership of up to 4 exempt direct reports and indirect leadership of a large non-exempt employee population.
  • Oversee the function to ensure accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes while operating within budget.
  • Develop processes to ensure compliance and employee programs to promote an environment where employees are empowered, and committed to the success of Grainger.
  • Responsible for metrics affecting safety, quality, and cost.
  • Teach your direct reports how to improve performance using a variety of continuous improvement techniques.
  • Determine the engagement strategy for the department and leverage the Grainger Principles to influence culture throughout the building.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations
  • 5+ years progressively responsible management experience in a high volume, multi-shift operation dealing with large employee populations.
  • Experience leading exempt-level leaders in a hands-on environment
