About the role

  • Own the end-to-end customer-facing search experience —including how the search bar behaves, how results are displayed, and how information is organized visually—to deliver an intuitive, fast, and engaging experience that helps customers quickly find the products they need.
  • Define and execute a roadmap for high-impact UX improvements, including typeahead, spellcheck, query reformulation guidance, filters, faceting, broad query experiences, visual SERP templates, and category-browser displays.
  • Drive modernization of search result pages to improve ease of finding key information, navigation efficiency, and relevance perception across desktop and responsive experiences.
  • Lead experimentation strategy for Search Experiences, partnering with Analytics and Engineering to create a learning agenda, increase A/B test velocity, and design strong measurement plans.
  • Establish clear OKRs and guardrail metrics tied to search success, customer engagement, friction reduction, and conversion impact.
  • Bring clarity and structure to complex problems, translating customer needs and technical constraints into clear product requirements and actionable work.
  • Partner deeply with UX/Design to run user tests, develop prototypes, and rapidly iterate on new interaction patterns or layouts.
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure scalable implementations, strong performance, and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, the primary stakeholder, to ensure search experiences reflect customer intent and business goals.
  • Coordinate with Search Intelligence and Platforms teams on cross-team initiatives such as query understanding, intent routing, indexing, and experimentation platform integration.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership —sharing tradeoffs, progress, blockers, and strategy in clear narrative form.
  • Stay informed on trends in search UX, navigation patterns, information retrieval, and AI-augmented discovery experiences.

Requirements

  • 7 + years of experience as a product manager or in a related technology role, including owning complex customer-facing UX surfaces.
  • Strong UX background: experienced in partnering with designers, running user tests, evaluating UX quality, and guiding interaction/design decisions.
  • Demonstrated success driving experimentation, including defining hypotheses, designing tests, running A/B experiments, and interpreting results.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use metrics and data to guide decisions, build business cases, and measure impact.
  • Ability to create structure in ambiguous environments and turn strategy into clear execution plans.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to write compelling narratives, present to leadership, and align cross-functional partners.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, especially working with Merchandising, UX, Analytics, and Engineering teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Comfortable with hands-on exploration — able to create mockups, draft flows, or use AI-assisted tools to communicate product ideas.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Search and experience working with ML teams.
Benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans with coverage starting on day one of employment and 6 free sessions each year with a licensed therapist to support your emotional wellbeing.
  • 18 paid time off (PTO) days annually for full-time employees (accrual prorated based on employment start date) and 6 company holidays per year.
  • 6% company contribution to a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan each pay period, no employee contribution required.
  • Employee discounts, tuition reimbursement, student loan refinancing and free access to financial counseling, education, and tools.
  • Maternity support programs, nursing benefits, and up to 14 weeks paid leave for birth parents and up to 4 weeks paid leave for non-birth parents.
