About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Reassemble and adjust machines to keep Graco hand, semi-automatic, CNC, and other production equipment in good working order
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and consult with management as necessary
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, machining, aligning, machine rebuilding, electronic, and testing operations
  • Perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs on company-owned machine tools, assembly equipment, and manufacturing assets
  • Support departmental personnel as workload dictates and mentor other mechanics
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Order parts and supplies and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Minimize waste by caring for products, equipment, and facilities
  • Maintain a productive and efficient work environment
  • Follow safety guidelines and use proper PPE
  • Diagnose and repair difficult malfunctions and obtain or fabricate replacement parts
  • Mentor newly hired Mechanics at various levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in electrical, electronics, hydraulics, fluid power, robotics, or related field
  • Minimum of 128 hours of maintenance/machining programs after obtaining the associate degree
  • Either two years of experience as a CNC Machine Mechanic B or equivalent previous experience with maintenance of CNC machining equipment (9+ years of similar experience)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to disassemble, troubleshoot, and reassemble equipment efficiently
  • Experience with electrical systems, programmable logic control systems, hydraulic pumps/systems, gearboxes/transmissions, and pneumatic systems
  • Understanding of safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical prints and electrical schematics
  • Proficient working knowledge of electronic controls
  • Ability to adjust machine physical placement and parameters to original specifications
  • Ability to work independently and follow work direction
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and instruct co-workers
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Not eligible for immigration sponsorship now or in the future
