About the role

  • Support in organizing and coordinating educational and outreach programs on nature, environment, climate and sustainability at Britzer Garten
  • Organization of educational, outreach and ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) programs for all target groups (from daycare/kindergarten to adults)
  • Design and delivery of educational programs for children and young people, focusing primarily on nature experiences, biodiversity, species groups and sustainability
  • Networking, establishing and maintaining contacts with local stakeholders (e.g., daycare centers, schools and other child and youth organizations) and with Freilandlabor Britz e.V.
  • Conducting target-group-specific information events and training sessions at the Britzer Garten sites
  • Issuing calls and awarding contracts for programs, as well as budget planning, cost controlling and invoice verification for the site
  • Design and delivery of own programs such as workshops and guided tours
  • Communications and marketing: promoting the education program, writing texts for press releases and website updates, managing booking systems and partner portals
  • Networking at district and supra-district levels
  • When required: supervising interns or other volunteers on site
  • Quality assurance for the programs and their implementation, evaluation and substantive documentation
  • Close coordination with the Campus Stadt Natur team overall and at other locations, as well as with the Grün Berlin Britzer Garten team

Requirements

  • University degree with relevant proven professional experience
  • Excellent knowledge of project management and experience in planning and coordinating educational programs
  • Experience in designing, planning and delivering workshops and program offerings
  • Strong interest in educational topics such as (urban) nature, environment, sustainability and climate
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills internally and externally, conceptual strength and strong organizational ability
  • Confident language skills and an empathetic approach to working with children's groups as well as people of all ages
  • Business-fluent German (spoken and written)
  • Independent and responsible working style and very good teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (including weekends)
  • Confident user of common MS Office applications and content management systems
