About the role
- Perform excise, fuel, sales and use tax related accounting tasks as assigned
- Calculate, prepare and report monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings in compliance with multiple regulatory agencies
- Research and communicate issues to store accounting, fuel accounting and help desk to ensure accurate collection and accounting for tax accruals and related ledger activity
- Responsible for general ledger entries and reconciliations of assigned tax liabilities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices
- Communicate frequently with management team, field operations, Regulatory Agencies, vendors, suppliers and other necessary outside organizations in respect to assigned areas
- Conform and adhere to internal controls over tax accounting procedures as set forth by upper management
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Advanced Excel skills (i.e. v-lookups, sumifs, pivot tables)
- Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlines
- Strong computer, presentation and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
