About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Consult with internal and external data requestors to clarify data needs, advise on administrative health data and recommend methodologically sound solutions.
- Extract, transform, and de-identify data using tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Snowflake, and Python, ensuring compliance with privacy legislation.
- Collaborate with virtual teams, data units, and research groups to support high-impact projects and improve data access processes.
- Perform quality assurance, conduct basic statistical analysis, and create reports or visualizations as needed.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in user acceptance testing and development of new data views to streamline future data access.
Requirements
What you’ll need- University graduation in a related field (i.e. Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health informatics, Health Sciences, Medical humanities or Public Health) plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
- Proficiency in a range of data and analysis tools, including SAS, SQL, R, Python, Snowflake, SPSS, GIS software, graphic and data visualization packages, and version control tools such as Bitbucket or GIT.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to explain complex data concepts to a diverse audience.
- Experience coaching or mentoring team members and contributing to internal knowledge sharing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large, diverse projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent organizing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary or cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with internal and external data sources to achieve project objectives.
- Public health research experience is considered a strong asset.
