About the role
- Work collaboratively with subject matter experts across Alberta Energy divisions, cross-ministry partners and with industry stakeholders
- Support the development and implementation of a CCUS regulatory framework in Alberta
- Engage with internal partners to ensure the regulatory framework is strategic and aligned with Alberta's long term decarbonisation and diversification vision
- Support the approval process of CCUS projects for Evaluation, Sequestration and SSR Agreements
- Create financial and business statistical reports used for Executive reporting, Minister's speeches, press releases, public information and future PNG Tenure Operations business planning
- Respond to industry issues and inquiries, and communicate industry information on appeals and notices
Requirements
- Minimum University graduation in Business, Economics, Public Administration, or Public Policy or a related field
- Supplemented by two (2) years progressively responsible related experience in policy interpretation and analysis, technical writing and briefings, and research and analysis
- Knowledge of CCUS's role in Alberta Energy and globally and its challenges (considered an asset)
- Experience of the oil and gas industry's exploration processes and activities (considered an asset)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic or operational public policy options, and providing strategic policy advice to senior officials (considered an asset)
- Understanding of how tenure is issued in Alberta
