About the role

  • Supervise the delivery of Visitor Services at Kinbrook, Tillebrook, and Dinosaur Provincial Parks.
  • Support the campground booth and information services program to ensure staff receive appropriate training.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and support to information, hospitality, and booth staff.
  • Maintain communication with other program areas to ensure visitors’ needs and concerns are met.
  • Respond to in-person and telephone/email requests for information on park and area amenities.
  • Plan and deliver activities to support special events (such as Canada Day and Parks Day).
  • Manage all Business Operations revenue, including managing floats, complete daily cash-outs, bank deposits, and revenue reconciliations.
  • Assist with and provide support for seasonal recruitment processes.
  • Develop expenditure projections and forecasts; track expenditures and revenues.
  • Meet with contractors; assist with contractor performance.

Requirements

  • Education: Two-year diploma in a related field; no experience required.
  • Equivalency: Directly related education or experience based on one year of education for one year of experience or one year of experience for one year of education.
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C + AED certification (to be completed if successful).
  • A Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.
  • A current 5-year Driver’s Abstract (issued within 30 days of application) with no more than 8 demerits (4 demerits for a Graduated Driver’s License).
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
  • Current Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate is desirable and may be required.
  • Experience in revenue reconciliations and/or accounting (asset).
  • Extensive experience in customer service, managing customer service issues, and the ability to confidently defuse emotionally charged customer issue situations (asset).
  • Experience using ASPIRA and SiteDocs (asset).
  • Strong IT skills, basic knowledge of, and the ability to trouble shoot electronics and ensure the proper operation of the campground and booth WIFI services, telephone systems, printers, POS systems, Till Systems, and Radio communication systems (asset).
  • Experience in the Food Service and Hospitality Industries (asset).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, TEAMS) (asset).
  • Knowledge of Dinosaur, Kinbrook Island, and Tillebrook Provincial Parks (asset).
  • Knowledge of local, regional, and provincial tourism opportunities (asset).
  • Knowledge in the retail industry and/or hospitality industry (asset).
Benefits
  • 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave
  • 5.6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
  • 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
  • $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
  • $2.75 per hour for evenings
