About the role
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support for up to five Justices of the Alberta Court of Justice
- Manage calendars and scheduling appointments
- Document and process budgetary/claim expenses
- Type, format, edit and proofread judgments, including researching and verifying case and statute citations
- Research and prepare correspondence and memoranda of a highly complex and confidential nature
- Prepare material for court hearings
- Handle sensitive and confidential information
- Establish and maintain hard-copy and electronic filing systems
- Handle incoming telephone inquiries and mail
- Coordinate travel arrangements
- Coordinate meetings and conferences
- Schedule judicial assignments
- Perform backup duties for other Paralegals
Requirements
- A two-year diploma in a related field (e.g., Legal Assistant, Legal Administration, and Paralegal)
- At least one year progressively responsible related experience
- Previous experience as a Judicial Assistant/Paralegal is an asset
- Previous experience as an Executive Assistant is an asset
- A Legal Assistant diploma is an asset
- Experience working in a Court environment, preferably with the Court of Justice is an asset
- Experience working in M365 environment is an asset
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM desired
