About the role

  • Build and maintain backend services that power Bid Match, focusing on scalability and reliability
  • Scrape, ingest, and integrate new government data sources into the platform
  • Refine and tune the recommendation engine to maximize accuracy and relevance
  • Develop tools to normalize, sanitize, and manage large volumes of government data
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and deliver data-driven features
  • Ensure government data corpus is clean, normalized, and ready for analysis

Requirements

  • Strong backend development skills in TypeScript/Node.js
  • Experience with web scraping and data integration
  • Comfort working with large, messy, real-world datasets
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Interest in recommendation systems or data science (bonus points)
  • Knowledge of government contracting data or other public-sector data sources (bonus points)
  • 2+ years of professional work experience
  • Experience building a large-scale platform for web and mobile apps
  • Strong CS knowledge
  • Bonus: experience with large language models
  • Product ownership and customer-focused problem solving
