About the role
- Establishes and maintains smooth operation of computer systems (operating systems, software and hardware) in networked or stand-alone configurations
- Maintains system integrity, upgrades systems/servers as required, and implements procedural changes
- Consults with support teams, help desks, customers and other technical staff to resolve problems
- Coordinates and performs operation and maintenance activities for networks/servers
- Creates and documents methods supporting network/system operations
- Plans transition of development/production environments to new technologies and utilizes system software to monitor performance
- Maintains and administers computer networks, hardware, systems software, applications, and configurations
- Plans, coordinates, and implements network/system security measures
- Provides regular monitoring and analysis for short and long-range planning for in-house systems
- Prepares documentation and writes/modifies scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks
- Recommends changes to improve systems and network configurations
Requirements
- Bachelor's with 12+ years of network and system administration experience (or commensurate experience)
- Clearance Required: Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance

- Experience maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments
- Experience planning, coordinating, and implementing network/system security measures
- Ability to monitor performance, prepare documentation, and write/modify basic scripts
- Ability to recommend changes to improve systems and determine hardware/software requirements
