About the role
- Develop and maintain automation solutions for cloud provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks.
- Create and enhance tools and scripts in Go and Python to streamline infrastructure workflows.
- Work with Terraform and Tekton pipelines to manage infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD automation.
- Collaborate closely with other platform engineers to evolve and support Ford’s internal Cloud Control backend.
- Manage and automate processes across thousands of GitHub repositories to improve consistency and reduce manual work.
- Ensure high reliability, performance, and scalability of production systems.
- Partner with teams supporting Red Hat Developer Hub and custom React-based plugins to ensure smooth integration between backend and front-end layers.
- Contribute to documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Automation, or Systems Engineering roles.
- Proven expertise in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Hands-on experience in GCP (preferred), or other major cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong scripting and development skills in Go and Python.
- Familiarity with Tekton or similar CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Strong Linux administration and automation background.
- Experience supporting large-scale, distributed systems and Git-based repositories.
