About the role
- Review and refactor Python and Kotlin code to remove redundant or unused log events.
- Reduce log volume and operational costs by improving logging patterns and standards.
- Analyze log data to identify high-volume and high-cost sources.
- Translate data insights into concrete architectural and engineering improvements.
- Support engineering teams with observability tooling, configuration, and best practices.
- Document findings, decisions, and long-term recommendations.
- Own the initiative end to end, from discovery through implementation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in backend engineering, infrastructure engineering, SRE, or similar roles.
- Strong software engineering skills with experience reviewing and improving production code.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Kotlin, Java).
- Experience working with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently and drive solutions in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets using scripting or querying tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating and documenting work.
