About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with partners and associates on all phases of complex litigation
- Prepare matters for hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations
- Assist in representing leading companies in software and technology disputes
- Assist with matters involving cybersecurity incidents, data privacy issues, intellectual property, and technology-driven business conflicts
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft clear and persuasive written work product
- Participate in client interactions and appearances at hearings, depositions, and trials
- Manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team of attorneys and legal professionals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school
- Strong academic credentials and demonstrated achievement
- Minimum 3.60 GPA
- Active membership on a law review or journal
- Experience in legal writing, cite-checking, and substantive editing
- Anticipated J.D. graduation date of May 2028
- Demonstrated interest in litigation, cybersecurity, data privacy, insurance coverage, and/or technology-related legal issues
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
- Ability to synthesize complex legal and factual issues into clear and persuasive written work product
- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and third parties in a professional environment
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment
- High level of professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Prior litigation, judicial clerkship, internship, or law firm experience preferred but not required
- Availability to work in-office on designated days in the Chicago office; remote applicants will not be considered
