About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain our Network.
Be a key contributor to Webpass customer installation process and network construction efforts on a split schedule.
Leverage installation and network construction expertise to troubleshoot complex challenges during installation or construction.
Exercise strong judgment and decision making, testing/troubleshooting connections without guidance, for residential and commercial customers.
Navigate essential and complex customer interactions with exceptional customer service.
Participate in on-call rotations as needed; understanding urgency and prioritization.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of pulling, terminating and testing twisted pair copper cabling and fiber optics in residential and commercial environments.
2 years of fiber splicing and/or network construction experience installing, repairing and testing fiber and twisted pair copper cabling.
Experience with home networking equipment, routers, switches, VoIP devices, Roku, AppleTV, etc.
A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record that meets company standards.
Technical school or technical training preferred.
BICSI 2 Copper and/or BICSI 2 Fiber certification preferred.
Deep understanding of the physical layer with a basic understanding of the OSI model preferred.
Ability to use troubleshooting and problem solving skills to resolve issues for internal and external stakeholders preferred.
Ability to terminate fiber optic cable utilizing a variety of connectors preferred.
Experience troubleshooting Ethernet network issues related to routers, switches and hubs preferred.
Experience with rack and stack work, putting together server racks, closet work, and patch panels preferred.
