About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for Spain and Portugal, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations and collective bargaining agreements
  • Validate payroll inputs (hires, terminations, changes, bonuses, leaves, allowances, shifts, etc.) and reconcile payroll outputs from external providers
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external payroll vendors, monitoring service quality, SLAs, escalations, and continuous improvement actions
  • Ensure compliance with labor law, social security, taxation, and internal payroll controls, supporting internal and external audits as required
  • Prepare, analyze, and validate monthly payroll reports for HR, Finance, and management
  • Provide expert support to employees, HR Business Partners, Finance, HRIS, and Legal on payroll, benefits, taxation, and time & attendance matters
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and digitalization of payroll activities, ensuring alignment with global standards where applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 5+ years of payroll experience in Spain; exposure to Portugal payroll is a strong advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Spanish labor law, social security, taxation, and payroll compliance
  • Proven experience working with external payroll providers (e.g., ADP, SD Worx, or similar)
  • Solid experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Workday, SAP HR, Meta4, or similar), with advanced Excel skills preferred
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, service orientation, confidentiality, plus fluency in Spanish and English.
