About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver proactive and value-added legal and business research to the firm
- Provide expert research assistance to attorneys and administrative staff using sophisticated research applications and new technologies
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of internal knowledge management resources and systems
- Analyze and synthesize research results and present findings to support effective decision making
- Advise attorneys on research strategy and resource selection
- Provide assigned research coverage and manage requests according to internal procedures
- Use workflow software to assign and manage research projects
- Develop curriculum and conduct research training
- Create and maintain newsletters and alerts using news aggregators
- Conduct new-hire onboarding for administrative and legal staff
- Contribute to the Research Services intranet
- Evaluate online resources and recommend purchases or renewals

Requirements
What you’ll need- Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited library school, or relevant professional research experience substituted for the MLS
- 5+ years’ experience providing research in a private law firm, academic law library, special library, or research center
- Expert knowledge of information sources including Westlaw, Lexis, Capital IQ, PitchBook, Intelligize InfoNgen, Derwent Innovation, and Saegis
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, including data analytics and artificial intelligence, and their impact on research
- Research interview skills to clarify and interpret research requests
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Zoom
