About the role
- Partner with the Strategic Relationship Lead and client team leaders to drive strategic account plan development and execution
- Enable growth, design, and scale the existing key account program to other strategic and commercial areas
- Lead internal client team meetings to ensure progress on strategic and tactical goals and drive accountability
- Cultivate a broader community of partners and staff and lead community calls for clients
- Oversee and conduct research including market trends, internal client analytics, and building a 360-view of client relationships
- Drive business development goals including identifying and tracking business leads and new commercial growth opportunities
- Ensure cross-functional coordination across client account teams and report on objectives, progress and metrics
- Build a playbook of best practices to deepen and broaden client relationships
- Lead preparation and diligence for internal and client-facing meetings, showcasing Goodwin’s value proposition
- Think strategically and creatively to identify net-new commercial opportunities
- Develop and manage relationships with partners, clients, and Global Operations team members
- Cultivate a deep understanding of Goodwin’s practice groups to identify cross-functional synergies and opportunities
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience in law, investment banking, management consulting, or related professional services role
- Direct experience building and scaling strategic account programs in large professional services firm (preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree (MBA, JD, or other advanced degree a plus but not required)
- Experience designing and operating a Strategic Client program in a scaled professional services organization
- Strong business and business development acumen, with a focus on account planning
- General knowledge of capital markets, M&A, and litigation a plus
- Proactive, highly commercial mindset and ability to think strategically
- Executive presence and experience working with senior client and internal stakeholders
- Project management experience with excellent organizational skills
- Strong experience assessing data, identifying relevant insights, and building presentations for Executive-level stakeholders
- Ability to shape and leverage research and competitive intelligence to identify business opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Exercises sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information
- Experience in Technology, Life Science, Private Equity, Real Estate, Financial Services a strong plus
- Excellent Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint skills; quick to learn and adapt to new programs
- Occasional travel
