About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct site surveys on commercial properties to assess feasibility of solar PV, battery and EV charger installations
Collect and analyse data on energy usage, roof space, shading, site logistics and access
Design solar PV systems using specialised software
Provide technical support and guidance to the project team
Respond to customer queries and explain solar PV systems clearly during site surveys
Collaborate with the project team to finalise system designs and prepare installation documentation
Assist in the installation and commissioning of solar PV systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

Understanding of electrical principles, construction codes, or building structures, such as roof types, in commercial properties
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with ability to explain technical details to non-technical customers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks effectively
Strong IT skills and experience with design software
Valid full driver’s license
Experience in Solar PV
Candidates based in the Reading area
Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
