About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gain hands-on experience working with in-house counsel on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law pertaining to advertising and FDA/FTC regulatory compliance.
- Support the Regulatory Attorney in reviewing marketing materials, advertisements, and promotional campaigns for compliance with legal requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and training programs to promote awareness and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Communicate relevant updates to stakeholders regarding changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Draft legal memoranda, reports, and correspondence to provide insights and recommendations on compliance matters.
- Assist in maintaining corporate records, entity databases, and governance documents.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives across both regulatory and commercial workstreams.
- Assist attorneys and staff with ad-hoc research, project-based work, and help organize and maintain the department’s shared resources and document repositories.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Law Student; college degree required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with attorneys and cross-functional teams.
- Competent in interpreting statutes and regulations to assess their applicability and impact on specific legal issues, particularly in advertising and health and wellness.
- Basic understanding of contract structure, common legal terms, negotiation principles, and corporate governance concepts.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficiency with technology tools including Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, AI technology, and contract management systems for efficient document management and research.
- Research and writing proficiency consistent with law school training.
- Prior experience in a corporate or legal environment (preferred)
