About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advocate for and secure services for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Participate in assessments of individuals and families
  • Develop, implement and coordinate Individual Program Plans
  • Manage a wide range of active cases requiring social work skills
  • Prepare required reports and documentation in a timely manner
  • Maintain records in compliance with federal and state requirements
  • Initiate referrals and monitor progress of services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge of principles, objective and techniques of counseling individuals
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal individual and group behavior, human growth and development of family relationships
  • Knowledge of community structure and organization
  • Ability to develop skills allowing for independent work
  • Excellent communication skills in producing documents in a business manner
  • Ability to stimulate the cooperation of clients and community agencies
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of social welfare or related human services field
  • Fluency in Spanish to perform the duties of the position
  • Knowledge in the areas of identifying and navigating generic services
