Key responsibilities & impact
  • Management of Regional Center Services to Individuals and Families
  • Define and monitor expectations of staff
  • Direct staff the delivery of clinical and social work services
  • Interpret policy within agency guidelines
  • Oversee synchronization activities between social work staff and Community Services
  • Represent the agency in informal hearings as requested
  • Draft and implement internal procedures
  • Manage the POS function for local office
  • Oversee coordination of premises issues
  • Interface with those served, service providers, and staff
  • Continuously assess current processes and procedures
  • Collect all documented procedures and document unwritten procedures
  • Develop and apply tools to assess the impact of processes and procedures
  • Document areas in need of improvement
  • Provide leadership at the County level
  • Oversee the hiring and supervision of social work staff
  • Manage workflow and staff time/work coverage
  • Hold regular staff meetings
  • Provide leadership to enable staff to efficiently utilize time and resources
  • Oversee the hiring and management of office assistant staff
  • Recommend specific training for staff
  • Ensure regular performance evaluations are given
  • Coordinate with peers to collect data on success
  • Exemplify and articulate Agency’s strategies and performance standards
  • Inform staff on the County Office’s performance success
  • Ensure services comply with the state and agency requirements
  • Act as community liaison and agency representative
  • Make recommendations for training for providers and those served
  • Conduct research for and make recommendations regarding agreements with other community organizations
  • Participate in special projects and assist with additional tasks
  • Maintain all client information as confidential

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related human services field
  • Leadership experience within Regional Center may be a substitute for Master’s degree requirement
  • Graduate degree in Management, Human Services with emphasis in Management or equivalent preferred
  • Significant course work towards a graduate degree in management and/or business administration may be considered
  • 5+ years’ work experience in dynamic organizations, or non-profits
  • 3+ years of management/leadership experience in a Human Services or related field
  • Previous work experience in a Regional Center preferred
  • Ability to influence change within the team
  • Ability to negotiate and to interface at all levels
  • Ability to provide analytical thinking principles
  • Ability to develop standard business written communications
  • Ability to convey complex information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Basic familiarity with MS Word®, MS Excel®, MS PowerPoint®, MS Outlook®
  • Ability to interpret and apply a variety of legal requirements and policy standards
  • Ability to prepare statistical and narrative reports
  • Knowledge of the principles of advocacy and community organization
  • Ability to effectively run meetings
  • Strong time management skills for self and others
