Key responsibilities & impact

Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational decision-making.
Monitor budget execution and financial performance to ensure compliance with federal regulations, appropriations law, and agency policies.
Develop financial reports, spending analyses, forecasts, and budget justifications for senior leadership.
Oversee financial management activities including budgeting, accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, and audit readiness.
Conduct financial reviews and identify risks, trends, and opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Advise leadership on financial management policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and funding strategies.
Coordinate with program managers and stakeholders to evaluate funding requirements and recommend resource allocation solutions.
Support audits, corrective action plans, and financial management reviews involving internal and external oversight organizations.
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of financial data and financial management systems.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in federal financial management, budgeting, accounting, or related disciplines
Extensive knowledge of federal financial management principles, budgeting, accounting, and appropriations law
Strong understanding of budget formulation, execution, fund control, and financial reporting in a federal environment
Experience developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Advanced analytical, forecasting, and financial management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial management systems
Experience managing budget formulation and execution activities within a federal agency environment.
