About the role
- Responsible for pre and post inspection and oversight of components and spares selected for reconditioning, refurbishment and/or repairs
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of reconditioned units
- Collaborate with operational teams in processing warranty claims
- Ensure health and safety of self and team members by applying relevant standards and procedures
- Contribute to the culture of Zero Harm by adhering to all requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams and peer groups to co-design and formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor and report on component and unit preparation, packaging and dispatching by operational teams
- Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance
- Initiate and drive process optimization projects
- Monitor, coordinate and evaluate the reconditioning process to ensure adherence to quality standards
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Relevant Trade Certificate
- Drivers’ licence with no restrictions
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an artisan in a Trackless environment
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience within a mining or engineering environment
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test.
