About the role
- Ensure strict compliance to Gold Fields Supply Chain Management Policy and Procedure manual and work ethics
- Source quotations from registered potential suppliers/vendors and liaise with them to ensure that enquiries/orders are acknowledged
- Select right bidder based on cost to Company, efficiency of supplier and quality of goods and services to be supplied
- Ensures that suppliers/vendors deliver goods or services within the prescribed time period
- Scrutinize all enquiries and purchase requisitions to ensure correct specifications
- Expedite all local and foreign purchases, reagents, lubricants and safety items
- Liaise with Gold Fields freight forwarders to fast track movement of cargo delivery
- Review pre-payment for authorization for both local and foreign suppliers
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Purchasing and Supply or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics Management preferably in the Mining or extractive industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and SAP
- Proactive, Self-motivated and able to work for long hours to obtain required results
- Extensive knowledge in applicable Supply Chain Management Regulations and Code of Practice
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels
- Medical fitness for the position and environment
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driver’s license
