About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The professional will be responsible for the entire chain of import, export and international movement of materials, aeronautical parts, aircraft and engines, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and support for critical demands (AOG).
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, develop and engage the Foreign Trade team, ensuring SLA compliance and acting as a strategic link between internal areas (Procurement, Maintenance, Logistics, Tax, IT) and external partners.
- Budget and Project Management: Manage the department budget, analyze logistics and customs costs, and lead continuous improvement and automation projects (e.g., DUIMP, ERP COMEX), aiming to reduce costs and optimize processes.
- International Operations: Oversee import and export processes for aeronautical components, aircraft and engines, including management of leasing operations and priority handling of AOG requests.
- Ensure correct fiscal classification (NCM) and the rapid resolution of systemic and operational issues.
- Supplier Management and Compliance: Manage the relationship and performance of customs brokers, freight forwarders and in-house suppliers.
- Act as custodian of the AEO program (OEA), ensuring customs compliance, supply chain security and readiness for audits.
- Innovation and Digital Transformation: Actively participate in feasibility studies for special operations and digital transformation initiatives, such as international logistics restructuring and the development of strategic lead-time indicators.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in Foreign Trade within the aviation sector;
- Proven experience in team and project management;
- Strong knowledge of special customs regimes (Temporary Admission, OEA/AEO) and relevant legislation;
- Experience with SAP, ERP ECOMEX, AMOS and Siscomex;
- Fluent English (mandatory);
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Relations, Business Administration, Logistics or related fields;
- Spanish is a plus;
- Postgraduate degree/MBA is a plus.
