About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Examine and treat patients
Take patients’ medical histories
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays
Make diagnoses and prescribe medications
Treat minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting
Record progress notes for follow-up patients
Educate and counsel patients
Order and/or carry out therapy with patients
Give vaccinations
Refer patients to additional care, including emergency-room care when necessary
Work eight- or twelve-hour shifts assigned by an authorized GoHealth Urgent Care representative
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Urgent care, emergency room, or high-acuity family medicine experience treating adult and pediatric patients
Bachelor’s Degree required for Physician Assistants
Master’s Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
One (1) year of full-time Emergency Medicine experience required; two years of Family Medicine experience considered
National Certification
Active state medical licensure
Experience with applicable office procedures, including suturing, splinting, and casting
Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required
Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
Strong listening, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to work eight- or twelve-hour shifts, including evening and weekend shifts as assigned
