About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide urgent care medicine in UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care centers
Evaluate and treat a wide variety of patient concerns with clinical complexity
Participate in shared clinical decision-making and problem-solving
See patients at regular intervals using scheduling programs that promote wellness, efficiency, and safe care
Collaborate with an on-site Radiologic Technologist and Medical Assistants as a clinical team leader
Share experience and training with clinicians and staff
Work from an assigned primary anchor/home center and nearby secondary centers
Work weekday shifts, weekend shifts, and limited on-call availability
Perform minor procedures including sutures, casts, and splints
Conduct preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays
Treat patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
1 year of full-time Emergency Medicine experience, or 2 years of Urgent Care experience required
2 years of Family Medicine experience will be considered
Comfortable performing minor procedures such as sutures, casts, and splints
Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required
Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required
Physician Assistants must have a Master’s degree and NCCPA Certification
Nurse Practitioners must have a Master’s degree and ANCC or AANP Certification
Weekend shifts and limited on-call availability required
