About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility
- Room patients and prepare them for examination
- Record medical history and vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.)
- Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG)
- Assist providers during patient visits and communicate patient needs
- Process co-pays and schedule follow-up appointments
- Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms and front desk areas
- Manage medical records, documentation, and patient communications
- Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
- Support daily clinic operations including opening/closing duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Medical Assistant certification is REQUIRED at time of hire
- Accepted certifications include: CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA), CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or CHP), RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT, AAH, or ARMA), NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT), NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NAHP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) – required at hire
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience within the last 3 years preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
